No Hope

If I could hold you forever.
If I could be there forever.
If you could be here forever.

I etch words onto a scarlet slab.
I etch your name onto my heart.

On an endless journey on a driverless train,
The windows are stuck.

The bridges are burning.
There's a dead end.

And I see your face.

I'm sorry I love you.

But you're gold.

And the wind blows through the lonely roads.
And it speaks your name.

I wish I could fly.

I wish I could say what my heart was telling me to.

If I could hold you forever.
If I could be there forever.
If you could be here forever.

If you could love me.

But that's a world away.
And my spaceship's broken down.

Maybe

Charcoal and black hearts.

I left my love,
Wandering in the moonlight.
The beams illuminating the fragments of disaster.

A new prisoner,
I'm put behind the bars
Of love because I couldn't find a place to be.

Maybe the hole will seal.
Maybe hope will carry me through.
Maybe there are new words.
Maybe one day.

Slowly the heart pumps,
Slowly the soul cries,
Maybe one day you'll heal me.

The symphony
Beckons me, calling me
To find a new arrangement.

The tranquility,
The darkness in nothingness
Says there's a light.

But it's never near.

Maybe the hole will seal.
Maybe hope will carry me through.
Maybe there are new words.
Maybe one day.

Slowly the heart pumps,
Slowly the soul cries,
Maybe one day you'll heal me.

Maybe one day you'll carry me through.

There's madness. And there's sadness.

But can we heal the heart that's broken?
